He said some people have a habbit of slipping them a bit off the line. I dunno why I just left it at that, was probs just hoping it would come good and made no further plans for mick to check it out for me.

Since then I honestly hardly drive it and very rarely give it anything, but on occasion when I have it has sometimes given me some nasty smells.

Latest was just recently when headsex took it for a spin, shifting 2nd it just didnt want to grab.

I babied it home from then and its been in my driveway since.

Have been in talks bout fitting a glide so havnt really cared about getting clitch replaced, hence no calls to you.

But honestly, if I do replace the clutch I can not see myself with any malwood clutch.

So unless your gunna give a refund, I dont see the point in me calling.

My purpose here was just answering OP's question, and stating my experience.

Clutch failed with nearly 100kw less than rating.

The only problem I have is how you have completely bagged the product, yet not given the supplier the opportunity to have a chance to help. Getting the information from you about your car has not been easy. I'm trying to help! I can understand that you are disappointed, and it is inconvenient.

If you get the clutch out, box it up, and I'll arrange for it to be picked up. I don't think you would get better support from any other clutch supplier!

Ben, are you sure your mechanic replaced the spiggot bearing with the supplied item, many do not as they can be a bit of work to remove

Staino you are whinging about your clutch failing but also talking about doing clutch kicks at 90kph. seriously if the tailshaft or diff failed the suppliers would tell you to get farked. I think that any clutch is gonna hate that mate. how many ks did your stock clutch go at 320kws before you replaced it? I know you had a bad experience and you are airing it out but seriously if your brake pads didnt last very long because you did hi speed stops all the time im pretty sure youd just change em. same same?

Clutch kicks were with stock clutch. Every mention of clutch kicking says stock clutch.

So stock clutch is were the clutch kicks were at.

The opt3+ has never seen street tyres. Would have rocks in my head attempting clutch kick at 90 with 28" mickety thompsons.

So one more time. The clutch kicks were with stock clutch only.

Mick, yes im 100% posative he replaced spiggot bearing. Little bit of oxy and it slipped straight off.

When you were offering advice on install (as you do) you mentioned this probably 5+ times so I definately made sure it happened.

As for bagging the product, I was only stating my experience untill you started with your attitude.

But I also understand where that came from too, your clutches are fantastic and your willing to stand by them, put your neck out and defend them. Until someone puts semi slicks on.

I will see what happens once I remove the clutch, whether I can be bothered sending it back.

I may just pm you some pics.

Ben, the pics will not help solve any possible issues, as even I know what it is going to look like if it has been slipping, if they get the parts back they will be able to check for things like correct clamping pressure from the pressue plate, check for possible clutch plate contamination or bent disc etc etc, your mind may already be made about the product, but it may help others if there has been a product problem.

BTW:

Around 24 seconds in you'll see a clutch dump into 3rd then a flat shift to fourth...

This was mainly done in 2nd and 3rd, yeah I need more practice :/

Rollin the point is that you only have 315rwkw. Why have you even got the opt5? Going by the ratings an opt3+ should be fine for your car.

The main discussion of this thread is why are the clutch dying below there ratings,Of course your clutch is going to hold up,Its rated for over 550rwkw.

Dosnt seem like we will get an answer to why as it seems everytime a clutch has been slipping no one is sending them back to Mal Wood to be diagnosed.

Ive got an option 5 in mine and has been good up till now touch wood lol. I use et streets 50% of the time and clutch has been given a good work out, never taken it to the track so dont know hows its like lunching but roll on pulls have been good. that's with 450rwkw
