Hey Paul,

Thanks for your explanations. It's good to have feedback about why things have failed from the manufacturer. We as a consumer don't always get that info.

When you say fitting transmission with the bellhousing on, what are you referring to?

The bellhousing on a T56 is removable from the transmission. When attempting to remove the transmission from the vehicle, the transmission itself needs to be unbolted from the bellhousing first, and then the bellhousing removed. When reinstalling, the bellhousing goes on first, then the transmission.

BA Mk1 XR6T's with the 5 speed can not have the bellhousing removed. They are tricky to remove and install! Also the FG Supercharged V8 has an intergral bellhousing, which makes it hard to remove and refit.

Ratter are the ones you are saying previously fitted heavy duty organic types to just a different heavy duty type full faced ones ?

I always found going from an organic full faced clutch to a 5 puck button the peddle weight is like 50% lighter the only issue is learning the engagement point other then that they are way better to use.

Also what brand do you for ?

We have noty fitted all the ones we have replaced but have been a mixture of organic and cerametallic type arrangements.

We use Mal Wood clutches but do not want this to come accross as an advert for them, we use what we believe is best for the customer based on their requirements

Attached is a photo of the goodness coming out of a factory spigot bearing. This clutch plate had grease on the flywheel side due to the spigot bearing not being replaced.

What about claims of big kw rated clutches failing way below rated limits and had been installed by very reputiable workshops ?

Whats in the pipe line for these members ?

Got any pics of the damage a dodgy stock spigot bearing does to the input shaft?
