However, it might be cheaper to check repair costs as there could be a big difference between panel beater quotes The excess is for his friend the repair cost vs excess cost = cheapest option ?

I can't imagine it being less than his excess

Which is alot more expensive for the insurer than just hitting a roo.that's what I thought but an ex's dad was driving home from work at about 4pm along Mccarrs creek rd (twisty though a fair bit of bush and one lane each way) in his old hilux and saw something run onto the rd out of the corner of his eye. He swerved not knowing if it was a kid and ended up hitting a tree and into the undergrowth. Called the cops thinking it was the right thing to do and they booked him for negligent driving even though he thought it was a kid because it turned out to be a bushturkey. Pretty harsh in my opinion

Pretty harsh in my opinionMany other reasons there why the police could think 'negligent' driving in that case.. And dodging a bush turkey isn't it..Was your mates dad focussing correctly? was he fatigued and unable to make a correct judgement call?or sadly enough.. Was the cop having a bad day? Can't blame the cop really as they'd hear every excuse daily. In hindsight he regrets calling them and shoulda just got the towie.
