Hey, not sure if people are interested in knowing about this but it's just something I came across. It started when I disconnected my battery, after connecting it back up I found my screen no longer turned on. Everything still worked just no screen. Anyway I took it back to the dealership and waited a week or so for them to get approval to try updating the firmware on the ICC unit. Thankfully it fixed my screen and also a few other issues with the bluetooth and usb options. It also cranks far louder than it used to, it now rivals my friends 2010 XR5 turbo stereo which is pretty decent for a stock standard system. This is the standard system (NOT premium sound) and It's a lot louder and clearer than my FG mk1 which had premium sound. I'm wondering whether updating the Firmware on previous models will also have a similar effect, could be useful for those who are not satisfied with their current sound.

I have been having issues with my bluetooth randomly dropping out and the contact list on my phone not being copied over. Did you have any issues with that at all??

yeah my bluetooth wouldn't work half the time, would have to turn it on and off on the ICC before it would connect and it would drop out as soon as I turned the car off even when the ICC was still on. With the new firmware I leave my bluetooth permanently turned on on my phone and it instantly connects with the car as soon as I start it. It all works perfectly now, I say if you have an issue with it then take it to ford and tell them you want it fixed. But by far the best part is how much louder and clearer the sound is after getting the updated firmware.

If you are using an iphone bluetooth instability is a phone issue predominantly. Turning off wifi helps but it will drop out every now and then still. ios6 has compatability issues that cause all sorts of dramas

^^^ had the same issue at hyundai, customers blah blah blah "my bluetooth worked fine, then when I updated the iphone it doesnt work" they blame the car and not the phone because the phone is up to date, then they trade the car in cos the blue tooth doesnt work hahah only to find it doesnt work correctly in there new hyundai bahahahah

Yep, people need to realise these bluetooth systems are developed well before the current software levels/phones are in circulation, old bt system + new phone/software= compatability issues

I had the updated fiemware done on my MK2 xr6, fixed most of the bluetooth problems, but most of all it fixed my issue with the screen not turning off and draining the battery. If you have a MK2, check that when your car is locked, the icc screen is not flashing on every 10 minutes or so. It only flashes on for a half second, so it may be hard to catch. The firmware update also fixed the issue of having my phone paired and connected to the cars bluetooth even when off and locked.

Yeah, my ICC unit is a lemon...

I own a MKii XR6 Turbo, I just got it back from a service and they upgraded the firmware on the icc, the stereo is a lot louder and clearer, they have added 2 new themes you can choose from for the display and they have added some more options for the bluetooth, the bluetooth works a lot better now
