Ok, a few top tips:

1) Get the exemption before you buy the car. This will stop you from having to buy the car, sell the car, and pay the government stamp duty for the priviledge.

2)

Ok, I lied, its one tip... BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT GET AN EXEMPTION.

• To a provisional licence holder who can demonstrate that an exemption is required for employment purposes

Does your boss own this car/require you to drive this car for work, and there is no other car you can drive for this job? No.

• To a provisional licence holder who can prove they owned the high powered vehicle prior to 4 September 2010

I dont have to explain this one, do I?

• To a provisional licence holder who can demonstrate that the high powered vehicle is the only vehicle available
to the provisional licence holder

I could be mistaken, but this sounds more like an emergency situation exemption. Buying a car that is not permitted, does not make it 'the only vehicle available'

So let me get this straight. You haven't even got your P's yet and you want a powerful car? Why do you think these restrictions are in place? It's to stop people like you with stuff all driving experience going out and buying high powered cars and wrapping them around a tree/pole/another car.

Why do you think you need more power than a stock n/a BA/BF xr6? So that you can show off to your mates? Or to street race? Either way you will most likely end up killing yourself and/or your mates. Wake up to yourself.

maybe the point might get through now?

mate your welcome on this forum, but if you ask a simple question, get the answer put plainly and simply in front of you, and then answer like you havent even heard a thing said, then you are only gonna get replies as above.

good luck either way you decide to go, or maybe a non turbo skyline might be more your cup of tea?

I'm with this guy

My advice buy something cheap to run and save your money for 3 years so that you can afford a better car once you get your full licence

That way when the time comes you will be able to afford something nicer like an fg or possibly a bf or fg f6

And based on statistics and common sense being a novice driver with a high powered car you would be highly likely to either wrap it around a tree or crash into some other sort of large immovable object that would cause pain

Have a look around though you will find plenty of other cars that are lots of fun without being dangerous for a novice driver and you can drive legally

Learn how to drive & understand how to use HP in something that won't get you into trouble. That way when you have a bucket load of HP under your right foot, you'll know how to use it to get OUT of trouble.... Not into it, neck deep.
