Guys can u ghetto drill out the factory FPR to help increase the return line flow ?? (obviously u can but is it a sensible thing to do) ??

Running a 044 surge kit with wiring.. 1000cc injectors..

Mind u the car will have a FULL custom Dyno done when this is complete..and be tuned accordingly..

The afore mentioned drop in 4bar reg looks good but for $150ish landed from the states and $175ish from a site sponsor is a bit rich..

The TboSmart reg adapter and using an aftermarket Reg is a wayyy cheaper alternative but I honestly dont want to go down this route if I dont have to..

Cool thanx toads.. I can see that in the pix now looking at it..

I might open it up a few mm, it cant hurt I dont think.. and it can be tuned around the new flow on the dyno no problems im sure..

Nah not as yet mate if its only being used as a lift pump essentially I think it will be fine.. the 044 will only be used on pump so I think a 2ish L surge tank setup will be adequate..

Reading thru the topics people have only upgraded it as insurance and sometimes overkill..

I'm running a Walbro 400, have drilled out the valve/restrictor in the swirl pot return and also drilled the black elbow in the bottom of the swirl pot to 3mm. Saw fuel pressure drop from 68psi down to 55psi. Stock was 52psi before I installed the Walbro. Still using a stock reg.

I managed to drop the pressure, and can now command anywhere from 54psi too over 100psi.

at first I thought it might be that the hole in the new 034 adjustable regulator was too small, so I disconnected the return hose under the car and ran it into a bucket then started the car, to determine if it was the reg or the swirl pot that had the restriction (thanks toads). The pressure dropped, so it must of been the swirl pot

I drilled out the blank elbow, it was 2mm, and went to about 3.7mm in small increments.

Not bad for an $80 drop in regulator

Thanks for your help guys

Where have u got the reg for $80 mate ??

The link on here from 034 with blueprinting puts them at about $120 after postage etc..

Is there an Australian stockist of them..?? from what I can see they are a Vw/Audi item and look very similar to this .and plenty cheaper here..

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/290809125216?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 landed for $55ish..
