Hey I have managed to come across a set of 4 FG XR6 rims which are 17". They are in excellent condition with heaps of tread on the tyres.

The wheel is the same size as my old wheels however they dont clear that suspension thingy at the front - I'm thinking the actual tyre is too big and if I can fit a lower profile tyre to the rim it will clear this (that's the thing that is like above the tyre).

They make the car look really awesome and I cannot wait to have them fitted.

the tyres fitted ar 235/50R17 and I'm pretty sure (can confirm if you need) the current tyres on the stock rims are 235/45/R17 (I think).

I really hope I can make this work otherwise I'll just sell these rims again and easily make my money back.

cheers

John.

ahhh what a relief - I'll take it all into a tyre shop and get em to fit my current tyres to these new rims.

What would happen if I say put these tyres I found are too big only on the rear and the stock on the front? I would like to perform some burnouts and would love to shred these tyres that have 90% tread on them.

Well I currently run 245/40/17s on the front and 245/45/17s on the rear with heaps of room to breathe at the rear so you should be fine in that repect but abs may not like it

Oh well, I'd only be running them for a few hours. My cars got an issue where it keeps producing smoke from the two rear tyres, I havent been able to get my head around why it loves leaving big long black tyre marks?!? :stirthepot:
