So after a lifetime of dreaming, I finally decided to do it... say hello to ENV1

Lambo-MeCharlene1-Web_zpsc8866eee.jpg

Now before everyone starts getting too excited, I DON'T OWN THIS CAR, it was a rental! LOL. I've have always been a huge Lamborghini fan so when the opportunity came up I just had to give it a go. I booked it through a company called Adrenaline and you get to drive this awesome machine along the Great Ocean Road so good roads and nice scenery.

So what's it like you ask ....

Like a big go-kart! You sit really low in the car, visibility is surprisingly good. The pedals take a bit to get used to , they are pushed to the far left so the accelerator is where your brake would normally be (dont get them mixed up!), almost forces you to use left foot braking. Gearbox is another thing to get used to. It's an E-Gear car so paddle shifts behind the wheel, you feel like a learner driver when you first take off, if your too light on the gas the car starts to bunny hop, you really have to feel when the clutch starts to take up and be 'firm but gentle' with it.

At low speed the car is quiet, ride is harsh, gear changes are jerky.... it just wants to go fast. Once you get above about 4.5-5,000rpm it starts to come to life, it loves to rev (all the way to 8000rpm) and by god does it sound porn, the engine/exhaust note is something else. Not alot of torque in the low end but starts to come good after about 5K, gear changes under full throttle feel 'different', I think its a hydraulic system so you get a little delay on shifts. Downshifts sound epic, the car blips the throttle and rev matches... so good with the V10.

The thing that impressed me the most is the handling, so direct, so much grip. I thought with the AWD it would understeer ... not a chance... point and shoot... really impressive. Outright power is great but not 'OMG' sort of power, its very easy to drive. Straight line vs the F6 (modded)... wouldnt be much in it... I reckon the F6 might even have it... but everywhere else the Lambo wins hands down. Its in another league of performance. Time to start saving for one :)

Here's a few pics I took after the drive...

It was a great experience, highly recommend it to anyone who has a love for these cars.

The F6 enjoyed the drive too :)

Awesome good stuff mate!

When I was in Vegas last yr I drove the skyline gtr, Lambo superleggra and Ferrari 458 Italia on a track. Absolutely amazing it's hard to describe the feeling! I felt like what the hell this is prob a once in a lifetime opportunity so I took it and im glad I did! I was going to drive the aventador but it was in the shop for maintenance, understandable given the 40 desert heat! Did 5, 6, and 5 laps in the cars and definitely was a good thing to do lots of laps.

As you say these cars are just like go karts, sit so low, handle like you can't believe and actually the speed is deceiving, because it handles it so well, you could be forgiven for thinking you're not going that quick, 200+km/hr says otherwise though.

I actually found the awd harder than the rwd Ferrari since I've not really driven an awd. A lot different to corner and feed the throttle and modulate the brakes. I was 2 seconds a lap quicker instantly in the Ferrari. The sound of the high revving v8 and blip on the downshift pure heaven. Talking about shifting the paddle shift on tr 458 is the quickest out there atm and boy you know it, barely a split second passes and it's shifted, not hesitation whatsoever. Lambo though well I felt like there was an eternity between shifts with the monstoringly loud v10 yelling at me from behind, love the v10 sound too! It's actually hilarious on the in car camera you can see me being thrown back in my seat from the delay in the lambos shift where the 458 was just a little nod of the head.

Didn't like paddle placement in the Lambo either, hit the wipers a few times lol. Still though very impressive cars all of them. Total sex to drive and listen to and thrash on a track. If you're ever in Vegas exoticsracing.com DO IT. also for the mrs get her a drive or in our case she went along in the corvette drift car and had a blast too!

Haven't mentioned the skyline yet, it was fun but felt really heavy, the sounds was good but no comparison to the other two. While its the best value for money for performance if you were rolling in cash either the Lambo or Ferrari for me. But still wanted to drive it and had fun doing so!

Overall an amazing experience and if I'm ever back there ill do it again, maybe try the Porsche GT3 and hopefully aventador.

Heard a lot of good things about the Vegas scenario. Will be doing it next time I go. My cousin has an R8 (Audi not commo lol) only the V8 version so probably not a true super car but I was lucky enough to get behind the wheel of that and you quickly understand why these cars are so expensive. It's all about the little details. Like the OP said if you haven't ever driven a super car it's worth the effort.

My other cousin has the masa GT but I haven't been able to get into that yet :-(

Sounds like fun!

Look at those throttle bodies! Definitely spent plenty of time around the coast.
