Sounds like your going to build a real animal mate, also try DLM they have some big HP cars going around. With the power you want to make id stick with a turbo 400 or a glide. If you going to drive it every day have you thought about a Turbo 400 or a Powerglide with a gear vendors overdrive unit bolted to it? I've wanted one for a while but I've just finished my motor yet again so have no money at the moment, but I'll have one this year :)

Fairly sure the gv units are a "cruise" overdrive and wouldnt expect to change into it at WOT but who knows what they can take as they pass all the power/torque through them

Thanks for the heads up on those gear vendor overdrives stee3. I think I will definately try and get one of those with whichever trans I go with mate, they look as though they would definately take alot more pressure off the trans itself and maybe even take a little stress off the motor also.

Im running a C4 in mine. Makes 955rwhp and ive never actually broken a gearbox. Have had issues with tailshafts/converters etc etc, but the box has withheld quite abit.

I would either go T400 or C4 etc. Dont really like powerglides for the street. A mate has a powerglide and on the street, sometimes your going 2 fast for 1st gear, but 2 slow for 2nd gear if you want to give it a hit.

Speak to some gearbox shops and see what they recommend.
