If you are really serious about it all , then get some thermocouples and some guages and stick them into the intercooler air paths

I have gauges on the way as well as threaded aluminium plugs for the temp sensors to go into the intercooler. I intend to have a sensor at intercooler inlet and outlet. Originally for the spray system, but I might try it with thermo fan as well. I have one in the garage that was left over from my cobra build, so it wont cost me anything.

The engine fans would be enough to do what you want. They are very efficient things and actually are well designed on the Ford in terms of blade strucure and shrouding around the radiator.

Agreed, its just the gap between the rad and intercooler that would (IMO) prevent the fans from pulling much air through the intercooler. However you have given me an idea. Maybe if I make a shroud for the intercooler that mates up to the rad it might increase performance. This one should be pretrty easy to test. I'll test these ideas once the gauge arrives.

do a search if you want to see if a monza cooler can perform (spoiler- it cant)

I understand my Monza is not the greatest cooler, but I want to be able to return my car to stock at any time. I dont really care which intercooler is the best. I just want to see if any intercooler can have its performance enhanced for bugger all $. that's just how I get my kicks. eg. my spray kit will cost me $57 which includes a boost switch. (although I already have the bottle and pump, so would have been about $140). The thermo fan will cost me nothing as I have it sitting there but thermo's can be had very cheap of ebay ($30). If it improves performance then surely its worth doing for so little spend. :bliss:

Noooo the wind would help distribute the water abit more, to misty and it will evaporate before working, this way the coolers wet and the air hitting the cooler will be colder!
