I was more thinking more water hitting the cooler will result in a colder intercooler and then the air that would be hitting the intercooler would be cooler as the water has cooled the cooler?!?! I don't no much but that's my guess lol

Im pretty sure the tempreature of the water will make little difference. Its the heat energy required to turn water into vapour that really matters.

no it needs to be atomized to work efficiently...

I'd be interested to know why?

Noooo the wind would help distribute the water abit more, to misty and it will evaporate before working, this way the coolers wet and the air hitting the cooler will be colder!

Without evidence to the contrary, I agree. Although, maybe a finer mist will carry the water further into the intercooler fins, not sure.

Link to parts for spray kit for 140 bucks?

Ralph, I am just going to use a regular windscreen washer bottle and pump, connected to a couple of regular windscreen spray jets.

This is what will trigger the spray.

Back on the subject of thermo fans.

I took some measurements today and I dont think I will be able to fit one in.

Also noted that my Monza cooler has a 20mm gap at the bottom (between the intercooler and radiator) but at the top has a 45mm gap. This is due to the oil cooler and oilcooler pipes being in the wayat the top. This is in my opion too big a gap and will make the radiators thermo fans pretty inefective at pulling air through the intercooler. To put it in perspective, the gap betweem the radiator and airconditioning condensor is 5mm.

I guess I could relocate the oil cooler and move the intercooler back but I still dont think it will leave enough room for my craig davies thermo fan. Maybe there is another brand of thermo fan that has a lower profile?

windscreen washer bottles and jets have been tried on endless occasions. you need jets that can atomize the water to do anything useful.

also a boost switch does not work. it only sprays when you are on load, when you need it before.

if you do a search, there are companies that have developed a 'brain' to activate the spray in plenty of time to have cooled the cooler before a load is put on the turbo, so it is already cool when you want to push the boost.

not my opinion- tried and tested and discussed before on this forum.

OK, I have read everything I could find (on this site) back to 2005. People who have done it with the washer bottle just say yeah it works but they dont provide any concrete evidence. Likewise articles say that atomised is better but they dont provide any comparrison testing that I can find. They just show the atomised results and say its better. I'll keep looking. This is a pretty good demonstration on youtube.
