I have a BF XR6 ute, and im house sitting at a friends place, and their drive way is on a slight incline.

Since I have been parking my car on that incline over night, my car has a funny creaking noise in the rear once I take off and change gears.

any ideas guys?

cheers.

Could be many things, I would be looking at the tension of the U-Bolts to start wth, then looking at the rear shackle bushes to see if they have perished. The incline will put more load on the rear swinging shackle and cause the bushes to rotate.

Could be the rear shackle bushes and diff re-setting itself with a slight rotation after being under a load on the incline of the drive for an extended period, Is the noise continually there now or was it just a one off thing..?

First thing I'd do is jump underneath n have a quick look at all the bushes, bolts and mountings of the rear suspension and drive line, can of WD40 n spray around the bushes may help, gotta start somewhere

so should there be any noise associated with the suspension?

mine has been creaking since its had the new gear fitted, mostly just coming in and out of my driveway.

once out on the road its fine.

If the fish plate starts to flex then they are too tight...

Depends on how low you go, I'd still get the installers to check it out

I have had 5 new utes and it is only my latest one (FG F6) that has this problem and only since I fitted low springs.

I tried all sorts of things and have finally fixed the problem. I took the rear shackle bushes out and really coated them with rubber grease and settled the car before I re tightened them and I also opened the gap between the spring leaves and sprayed Lanox (lanolin spray) under all the plastic spring insulators and has been great now for months. I must admit it is easier if you have a car hoist.

Hope this helps...
