I tried tech wax on my partners old BA falcon and found it absolutely awful to remove, I then decided to try the same bottle that has been sitting in the shed for over a year on our newly acquired G6E turbo. Worked beautifully, so easy to remove. I think I was too impatient last time on the BA and didnt let it "haze" enough

Why's that freaky?

I've been using meguiars stuff almost every car I've owned and most of it hazes.. Then buff off with a soft cloth.

Have you tried misting with distilled water from a spay bottle to soften slightly before polishing off.

I know a few people that do this.

you know the stuff your using is sh*t when it says to let it haze

Actually I dont think it says anything about letting it haze. Come to think of it, I think I left it on the paint too long on a hot day which made it very difficult to remove. When I did the G6E I had the paint dead cold in the shed and started buffing it off as soon as I finished applying it to the whole car. Worked a treat and was very easy to remove

ok heaps of advise here its good! :locomotive:

ill try and run through the procedure I go through when I polish my car.

hand wash with meguiars wash and wax (in the shade), chamois dry and remove any tar and bugs with an Amour-all tar and bug remover (has some waxing agent in it too, not sure of the name of it), hand wash again to get all the crap off and chamois. apply polish (as ive mentioned before ive tried a range of polishes) I apply it so its not to thick but u can just see it on the paint. ive been doing small patches on the car so it doesn't dry too quickly an wipe (mostly really wiping) it off with a maguiars micro-fibre towel (I wash the towels after every time I polish my cars too). then I wax it afterwards if ive used a polish only polish (if I use maguiars wet look I dont wax it afterwards) and it seems to be better to come off than the polish is (possibly because the paint is smooth or clean it can come off easier, not sure).

I have also used the same polish and wax on my previous car (wasn't a falcon, but a lancer, and it was easy to come off. could do the entire car and come back and wipe it straight off with no problems)

now a mate has a mk2 fg xr6 and doesn't have the same problem as me with the polish and uses the same brand and I believe the same polish and wax as I am. he can do the entire car with the polish and come back and wipe it all off with ease.

I work at a ford dealer and have never seen a car that does that, really strange. its got me and the service manager sorta scratching our heads on it.

I hope I haven't left anything out :mail:
