ok so not surewhat your problem is but that's not to do with the paint.. im 99/9% sure,,,, it would have to be another factor like a bad batch of polish or temps or a sh*t rag u used or something .... I have a lot to do with the paint side of things in dealers and never heard of that being a complaint about the factory paint so that would be the only one.

So you're a rip off merchant trying to convince people paint protection is some magical product worth $1k?

Biggest scam in the auto industry today.

Anyway, not sure about polish as I only wax my car, but with wax you let it dry and then rub it off. I never do it in direct sun and only do it after a hand wash, so the car's never that hot.

If you're finding it hard to get off then the cloth is probably clogged up. You need to constantly change to clean sections of the cloth.

Lol even if it is a scam our family go through a friend who does the panel and leather protection on the side for cheap ($100 lol) it just comes with no guarantee as she takes home the last bit of the barrel from work haha

To be honest it depend which company you get it from.

The company I work for (which doesnt just do paint protection also does lots and lots of other service and vehicle parts, so that isnt all I do) provides a life time (this is not subject to inspections or any other schemes it is what it is) tranferable warranty which most companys wont so Beryl and Bob who are elderly and will keep theyre car for 20 years will see a benefit in that theyre car will look just as good the day they bought it as 20 years down the track and poor old Bob doesnt have to polish or wax the car forever which helps his arthritis. If the car has depriciated then we will respray it for no charge. simple.

also same thing with bird poo, bat poo, acid rain, sun damage, tree sap... blah blah

so not a rip off if it suits your applicction.

im not saying any more as I dont wanna give away the company I work for.

all im saying is there is a particular time and place and customer that the product may suit... ive had sevral customers come back after 7 years happy as larry ....

never had one come back with a complaint at this company... at my last commapany had lots.

its personal preferance... I personally like waxing an polishing my car but jo bloggs in his wifes captiva may never ever want to and still want his car to look good.

ive been polishing the car by hand, don't really like using machines on it. I always do it in the shade just after I wash it in the morning so it hasn't been driven. found the weather doesn't really make a difference, ive polished it in both winter and in summer (few days ago). temps probably anything between 25 degrees in winter and 30-35 degrees in summer. paint surface is cool and dry when I do it. I will try the tech-wax and autoglym too next time I do it.

thanks guys, appreciate it

Bringing this back on topic.. Slightly..

OP,

The only thing I can think is that you could be applying the polish too thick.. On my wife's old car which had crap paint from factory (TK Barina), it was almost impossible to polish using a cut polish compound (ie: Turtle Wax).. That would have the same problem where you'd ditch the microfibre or terry towel and go grab ye ol' hard arse tea towel from the kitchen to scrub it off.. To polish it nicely I had to use easy polishes like Meguiars Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner followed by the Wet Look polish.. And it'd take 2 or 3 goes with the wet look to get it how I liked it.. (Being a barina this took about 15 minutes :P)..

But you did mention that you used the wet look so all I can ask really is: When you apply it are you applying it so the surface of the car looks smoky or slightly hazed.. Or are you applying it so the surface looks creamy.. If it's creamy (Thick) and it sets hard (Any temp over about 25 degrees it will set fast), you're gonna be picking so much crap up on your first pass with the towel that it won't be able to buff cause it will be coated with polish..
