Replacing Stock Wastegate

OK so I assume that because air can be blown continuously through the waste gate house into the diaphragm without building any pressure that the diaphragm is split. Checked the hoses and they are fine

Is that pressurising the wastegate directly or through the solenoid?

Should be plenty of stock actuators kicking around here or your average reputable tune shop. You can fit an aftermarket unit with the same spring pressure but as most are adjustable you'll run into issues setting the preload pressure. New stock unit or good 2nd hand stock unit,but i dont think ford will sell you a stock unit without the turbo attached

That's into the waste gate directly. I rang ford today and asked for an actuator got quoted 52 but he called it a turbo solenoid so I'm thinking he has no idea and quote me for the boost solenoid as opposed to the actuator

If the diaphram was leaking I dont hink you would be able to hear it. I have replaced a few with stuffed diaphrams and none of them have made a sound. If the car is stock and it hasn been tuned when it overboosted it will first go into limp mode and then throw a DTC code(engine light) Thecar is not overboosting. One of your intercooler hoses has split where the clamp is. Hard to see most of the time and people think just tightning the hose clamps will fix it. Ive seen this before.

if the actuator diaphram has failed you will be able to tell by doing this apply compressed air(not to much)into the actuator if you can hear air leeking it has failed,also once you have applied the air to it the rod should not return it should hold pressue untill you let of air.

The car is denfinetly over posting well according to the boost gauge it is anyway. I will check the intercooler hoses over the weekend and see if I can find a split....although I don't see how this would make it boost more than it should. Will check hoses and repot back though

...two gauges same result...and once it gets to 8psi it hits boost cut. Like I have been saying definitely over boosting. May try get a video of it today
