any info on redline hypno?

Hi owna, good to see you got your beast back.

All I can tell you about REDLINE is that it is the only oil/ATF approved for use in jet engines. It has a crack and shear strength around twice that of normal oil, but costs 3 times as much $26 litre engine $300 to get auto flush and refil. It lasts twice as long (after 5000klm in engine it still looks relatively clean) supposed to last twice as long between changes although I wouldn't do that to my T. Mate I don't know where you would find it in Sydney but most speed shops stock it. The figures show in an auto that it will run cooler by itself than normal ATF with a cooler. I have given my beast some terrible hammerings at times and NEVER had any issue with the auto at 320 - 330kW engine. Mate I reckon it's well worth it :beerchug:

I just thought id add another auto problem that I heard about today.

a bloke I saw at a servo while filling up today has a exede 300kw upgrade and he said he gets slipping in 3rd gear. not when changing though. he said when he is in 3rd gear just driving normally a few seconds after applying the gas the revs drop by about 250rpm giving him the feeling of changing gears but he isnt changing. he said it happens only when appying the accelerator softly and doesnt seem to do it when driving hard and his car changes fine and doesnt flare inbetween gears either.

Any idea on what causes this guys?

OwnaXR6t,

I am pretty sure the Auto box has a lock up converter. Even in my standard auto T, you can feel the revs drop a bit in both 3 & 4 when cruising.

I have been told that this features stops the auto from "winding up like a rubber band" and acts like an overdrive.

Perhaps someone with more experience can confirm this.

Cheers
