I was going to get a herrod CAI but ford have advised me that they may deny warranty on the engine if I have this fitted. I know I could remove it and put the stock one back onif the car has a issue but that's not always possibe if im away interstate or something so it will have to wait till the warranty and ford extended warranty runs out.

One of the ford dealers Round my area deals herrod, and will fit/tune and warrant all work.

Might be worth looking to see if they can do that in your area.

Can a Mazda produce an extra 100kw with just a tune?

There's deliberate attempts by Ford to limit the potential of these cars. The aftermarket industry has solved every single one of them.

I can't blame them for wanting to keep people honest.

Lol what has that got to do with it?

Mazda make turbo models you know right?

My 3 currently has about 220kw atw with basic bolt ons.

Mazda knew about them all and replaced a turbo for free after the warranty had expired..

So what you are telling me is I can buy an xr6 and flash it and it warranty is fine? Ford make other models too.

Cool story bro!

What it sounds like to me is they will do anything to get out of paying a warranty claim.

Not sure how you've got that idea... Are you one of these guys that doesn't read a thread before posting?

in the case of a major warranty repair, ford may send out somebody to check the car and the ecu, if this happens they will over ride what the dealer says and can deny a warranty claim.

that's my concern its okay while im around home I can just swap it over but as I said if im down in melbourne or happen to have a issue where I cant get the stock intake it may be a issue. I know its very unlikley to happen but we all know Murphys law.

that's using your logic mate, a standard non turbo xr6 does not make 100kw from a tune..
