If I am told it is ok to do something and I declare it to dealer and warranty mob then I have nothing to hide. I'd like to simply do some mods now while I can that will aide any future mods I may do when warranty is up, I'm not out for any major power gains yet. I also understand it is less expensive to do all at once but that is 4 years away.

Thanks for your input! At least I know now that I could get a cat back system without having a tune if I wanted.

Its not upto the dealer its upto ford... They wont (shouldnt) tell you anything is ok without consequences, if they do and ford rejects a claim it will be put straight back on you then youl put it on them ad itl be a neverending battle. Iv had people take failed parts for forensic analysis and they still got nothing out of ford. If you want to mod dont expect warranty, bottom line.

Can a Mazda produce an extra 100kw with just a tune?

There's deliberate attempts by Ford to limit the potential of these cars. The aftermarket industry has solved every single one of them.

I can't blame them for wanting to keep people honest.

Yes I agree Adam. The other factor with mine is that it is actually Allianz the extended warranty is through I'm not sure if they are better or worse. It is not ford as such. I'm still going to go ahead with the minor mods to intake because I'm willing to take the small risk that issues are going to be caused by these parts.

Just gave Alianz another call to clarify. They have the same condition as ford. The intake and air filter is fine to replace, except that those parts are not covered in warranty and any failure as a direct result of that modification will result in claims being denied. I also have to declare any changes for this to be acceptable.
