was doing a few odd jobs on the chariot today and decided to tidy up the earls turbo line filter with some adel clamps (p-clamps, cushion clamps etc). anyway I pulled those to bolts out at the front of the engine and the one on the drivers side came out with a bit of re-tapped thread attached...sweet.

Doesn't do up anywhere near as tightly now and I was wondering if these bolts served any purpose other than holding coolant lines and if it's a real issue?

cheers in advance

oh and some pics \/\/

I think you'll find these two bolts hold the timing chain cover the the front of the engine. Of course there are more than just two. If you've tightened them up and it doesn't leak then you should be fine.

Yep, I now have a pair of locating bolts only, they don't hold sh!t together. May 2007 build, no problems.

Ive read on here the factory bolts are too long, bottom out and strip the alloy, so its best to shorten them,
