In keeping with your comment about different mods etc I have started this thread to try and obtain some decent info around turbo failures in these cars and likely causes:

http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/83403-the-great-turbocharger-failure-thread/

Lets see how it pans out and what sort of trends show up.

Understand mate, hence the other thread to gather some info from the members. If the trend shows a link between failed turbos running higher than stock boost pressures and no bov ill happily admit I'm wrong and refit the 32mm turbosmart bov I have sitting on my desk in my office. :spoton:

Its not about right or wrong I just want people to understand there is a risk by not having some form of bov. I posted the garrett link due to the amount of turbo's they handle each year and is a good source for all sorts of info (if you want to get right into turbos they have compressor maps there too so you can pick the exact turbo you need rather then going through what you have in your sig "You need to replace your tuner. Pretty common fault on these cars"). With regards to the thread it may be hard to find exact cause due to the possible sources of failure as you would know and the fact that I doubt many here would have send their broken turbo's to places like MTQ or Garrett when they fail to find the exact cause.

I am "right into turbos" my friend and know how to read a compressor map, as for the quote in my sig , take it in context and you might find it quite funny, but from the tone of your replies you don't strike me as a person with a sense of humour. Take breath have a look around and be willing to accept that people will have different opinions and experiences out in the real world.

Sure, I'm a big fan have both my exhaust manifold and exhaust housing done, can't confirm better spool from the coatings but the reduction in under bonnet temps and the affect this has on components in the engine bay is worth it in my opinion

Sorry Ralph. Did you mean can confirm or can't confirm better spool?

Fixed! Yeah ment. Can't, felt like it spooled quicker via the butt dyno. But at the time I had no means of data logging to prove it.
