This thread is going south pretty quick. If people don't quote brand and part numbers of springs used and just post pictures what's the point?

Kings, Lowells, pedders all differ and are different heights when comparing SL, SSL, SSSL etc.

As a price guide use this:

- a full set of king springs is under $200 trade

- with a hoist and proper tools a shop will take 2hrs max to fit a set of springs (labour varies from $80-120 per hr)

- a wheel alignment is approx $80

If you are paying over $450 for supply and install of a set of springs only (no wheel alignment), I hope your friendly mechanic is supplying the lube.

:spoton:

Show me where you can buy a set of four king springs for under 200 dollars please? I'd love to know...

Lols

Honestly kings supplied and installed and w/a should be no more than $600 maxxxx anywhere in australia

Just to keep some in the loop I pay $125 a set

So $250 for 4 supply only and I can put them in aprox 2hrs being fair so u see theres good profit in there for some workshops

I can appreciate those Figures - but I'd like to see under 200....

If you are charging more than $135 a pair the Ebay sellers will smash you anyway, so the prices have to be cheap but not rediculous

Did not mean to upset anyone, I should have said around $200 trade as a guide. I paid just over that retail (10-15%) so there must be something in it for the people who sell them.

You sure you got this the right way around ?

Yep. I tried multiple springs to get the right setup.(3 sets) The Kings HD springs due to the spring rate, especially for the front, are not designed for the six's.(King springs said this not me) They are designed for the V8 (heavier front end). If installing on the sixes you need to add an extra "S" ie SSSL to get the height where you want it. Initially I tried the SSL and the height was good but the ride I found not firm enough so I ordered the SSLHD thinking that it would sit at the same height but slightly firmer. Car sat slightly higher than standard. Then ordered a custom set of SSSL HD with an extra 10mm lower(equates to approx SSSSL HD). Each to their own, but I find the ride, although slightly firmer much better than the non HD springs. You will be surprised how much less you bottom out/scrap with the HD springs than the standard non HD springs.

Just took the car down to work to put the new springs in.

SSSL rear, SSL fronts. Photo was only taken just 10min after install so might come down more yet.

Off to Heasman Steering Wednesday for alignment and shim front arms.
