Best Internet guess this week.

It was the fluctuating revs at 100km/h that had me suss as that's the one thing my mate commented on with his...

Surely there's an ACCC law for it lol.

It's done 84000

the best you could hope for would be some sort of assistance but that will only happen if it goes to a ford dealer.

Has the coolant ever been changed?

If so what brand of coolant was used?

You will need this info.

If ford dealer did not do the last service I think you will be totally out of luck as the car has seen it's warranty period out.

Dealers are normally closed only on the main holidays, should be some one there tomorrow, but getting an answer this time of year may be time consuming and it will not be up to the dealer to decide.

good luck

^this... 84000ks or not your warranty period is over... Under no circumstances do they have to warrant any fault on your vehicle anymore. Its not upto the dealer its upto ford motor company. 9 months out of warranty you would be oh so lucky to get 20% after warranty assistance but its definitely worth a shot! Stranger things have happened and the fact you have mostly ford service history will work in your favour! Its a known fault also so good luck all you can do is try!

According to the ACCC:

"How long do consumers’ statutory rights apply?

Statutory rights are not limited to a set time period. Instead, they apply for the amount of time that is reasonable to expect, given the cost and quality of the item.

This means a consumer may be entitled to a remedy under their statutory rights after any manufacturer’s voluntary or extended warranty has expired. For example, it is reasonable to expect that an expensive television should not develop a serious fault after 13 months of normal use. In this case, the consumer could argue the item was not of merchantable quality and ask for it to be repaired, even if the manufacturer’s voluntary warranty had expired".

Hopefully this applies to vehicles!!! I used to work in a retail computer store and soon learnt that a manufacturers warranty doesn't mean anything... Expired or not!

Ill try my luck!

lol I used to work at HN too! Every body knows how to get what they want from them.

Off topic, but how's this:

When I worked at HN we had a lady walk in who bought a baby monitor from the U.S and wanted to buy a power adapter for it. One of the sales guys recommended a U.S connection plug (the correct one), the lady didn't want to pay the $10 and said it was to expensive and went to Kmart and bought one.

Turned out she needed adapter and a voltage adapter and she fried the baby monitor and caused some damage to the power circuit and had to call an electrician out.

She complained to HN head office about the "advise" she was given, HN head office then made my franchisee replace the baby monitor and cover all costs from the sparky because they didn't want it to go any further or get media involved.
