Makes ya bloody paranoid this one. Everytime I read one of these stories I check my coolant. Must do the by-pass next year - it aint worth the grief. Unfortunately mate, I reckon you're screwed with ford - hope I'm wrong. A rebuild will cost you around 3k.

Got it towed to ford today. The service manager has said he is going to put a case to ford to see if they will cover it under warranty. More than likely wont know anything until the new year now though.

mine went to a milkshake this time 2 years ago not a good xmas prezzie

out of interest, when your car "milkshaked" what was involved in the repair for you?, and how much did it cost?

I've just taken my car to ford today who are saying that it will more than likely cost between 7-8k!!

How ever the service manager is helping me raise a case to get for to cover some or all of the costs.

lol I used to work at HN too! Every body knows how to get what they want from them.

Off topic, but how's this:

When I worked at HN we had a lady walk in who bought a baby monitor from the U.S and wanted to buy a power adapter for it. One of the sales guys recommended a U.S connection plug (the correct one), the lady didn't want to pay the $10 and said it was to expensive and went to Kmart and bought one.

Turned out she needed adapter and a voltage adapter and she fried the baby monitor and caused some damage to the power circuit and had to call an electrician out.

She complained to HN head office about the "advise" she was given, HN head office then made my franchisee replace the baby monitor and cover all costs from the sparky because they didn't want it to go any further or get media involved.

Haha scum bags!

We never had anything like that, just a chit load of wingers getting old old products swapped cos they were gonna go to the accc, we had a lot of 'Jerry's' friends/relatives threaten to winge to him if we didn't do what they wanted, hated that place

Back on topic, I say stamp your feet hard enough & they'll come to the party, if it works for retail etc should work for the car industry. Plus even in the current chit hole situation ford are in they'd have to look after there customers wouldn't they?
