Just book it in for a diagnosis. It will only take a few minutes with the guages connected to work out whats going on. But honestly, mist combined with uneven vent temps points towards a low charge on a large range of cars. I am yet to pull an FG dash out to inspect the HVAC unit but if its anything similar to the BA/BF the passenger vents will blow through on end of the evaporator and the drivers side the other. When the system is low on charge only a partial section of the evaporator works effectively. From memory, in BA's this was the end that "fed" the drivers side vents, causing the drivers side to be cold and the Passenger to be absolutely useless . Let us know how you get on. If all checks out ok then it may be dash out for you unfortunately.

Just out of interest here is the TSB from Ford regarding the issue with the BA

Subject: A/C TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE ACROSS VENTS

Models: All BA Falcon & SX Territory

Summary: The A/C system may distribute different temperatures from passenger side air vent to drivers side air vent. This may be caused by low refrigerant charge.

"If a customer is experiencing a difference in A/C temperature from the driver side vents to the passenger side vents, the cause may be a lower than specified refrigerant charge. This applies to the Manual Climate Control System and the Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control System.

There is an internal divider in the HVAC case that separates the airflow from left to right completely after the evaporator. If the system is low on refrigerant charge the evaporator coil will not be fully flooded with refrigerant and the evaporator will get progressively warmer across its surface. The evaporator coil refrigerant flow path is right to left or driver side to passenger side, thus it will be colder on the driver side than the passenger side."
