Hey guys,

Today I took my car down to get a service and found that my right diff bush has a crack in it.

The workshop says they can't get it done till the new year and I should drive granny spec.

This is a real bummer because I'm going down to summernats with my mate who's just built up his 383 s/c wb Ute. I was just going to cruise round the track (it's only 10-15kph) and maybe do a few little skids where allowed (on small sh*tty tyres). Just little muck around stuff, mainly going to support my mates Ute.

Am I definitely likely to do more damage if I go ahead with it? I've been told some guys drive around 20, 000+ kms with rooted diff bushes.

Thanks :)

P.s. diff bush

Mine was farked for ages I did skids and about 60 passes down the 1/4 I never encountered a problem from it. All diff bushes now replace sand car feels the same :/

Probably the reason it still feels the same.

the only place youre "allowed" to do skids at Summernats is on the burnout pad

otherwise security will cut your pass off your wrist, tear your entrant sticker off, and turf ya. not that I know......

they will be even more stringent if you are going as a support vehicle, and not a entrant.

I dunno about that, last year on sunday there was plenty of cars smokin it up on the cruise route and security didn't seem to give two sh*ts...mainly because most of the security I saw were scrawny teenagers and the burnouts sent everyone within 20 metres mental.... loved it! might be different on friday or saturday though.

oh, and diffbush issue, I'd be more concerned if it was the centre one...she'll be right

No they have the option of going by the burnout pad on the cruise route to do a straight line burnout and continue your lap, this is to prevent people from wanting to do them on the cruise route.

Also, I am not a support vehicle. We are both entered but our focus is mainly on his, mine is just for a bit of fun and so we get the same camp grounds.

My bad, I thought you said burnout comp, implying I was planning to do them against the rules.
