Guest cul08r Guests Posted 04/01/04 10:33 PM Share Posted 04/01/04 10:33 PM Just thought I would throw a product review your way. Might help others out in the future, and allows others to comment on the same. Maybe we could dedicate a part of the site to this type of area?Anyway, for chrissy I was given a FPV chamois, that some may have seen advertised recently in the likes of performance ford magazine. Its the one with the FPV GT print on one side. I am unsure of the retail price of the product.I was disapointed with the performance of the chamois, with very little water capacity and an uneven water clearing ability. The streaking left on the car was quite aparent when compared to my original plas chamois. I am washing the chamois at the moment (again) after soaking and rinsing multiple times, but I am not expecting any change to what I have mentioned.I will be giving some more product appraisals as they occur.Andrew Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/8328-fpv-chamois/ Share on other sites

Don't agree- if it isn't good after 1 or 2 times- it won't ever be any good. The plas chamois are one of the better for absorbtion- I always use one of them or a meguiars chamois and they are good straight from the packet (after following the manufacturers recomendations and rinsing it first of course). A fellow I know that owns a smash repair place have only ever used the perforated style chamois and now so do I they are by far the best thing available to give your pride and joy a streak free and water spot free finish without scratching. They are very hard to get and are very rarely sold via the normal retail outlets I'm told because it would eat into there sales for more cleaning products required to fix problems caused by poor quality products I got mine through a wholesale supplier, there huge approx 1m square for $30. Just my opinion but with the results I've had I thought it worthwhile to pass on.RegardsKATO Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/8328-fpv-chamois/#findComment-79129 Share on other sites

Guest Scootre Guests Posted 07/01/04 07:50 PM Share Posted 07/01/04 07:50 PM I picked up a Car Smart synthetic chamois from my local (Hornsby NSW) Auto One. They didn't have the Plas Chamois - my first choice. This one is blue in colour and is great. Very happy with the results. Price was $21.
