DATE: Sunday 6 January 2013

TIME:
Depart 10am Pakenham Bunnings

DESCRIPTION:
Start Pakenham Bunnings then smooth highway cruise to Loch. From Loch we snake on south through 35 kms of glorious twisties (well yeah some would call this bit pure porn :drivingalong: so yeah pun intended ) before arriving on outskirts of Wonni. There is a photo opp just near here by some water just before lunch. Then, weather permitting - BBQ lunch at Wonthaggi Guide Park (split the cost - I'll buy some bread, snags etc - should be roughly $5 per person). Loch to Cape Paterson (for a quick vid) to Inverloch via coast road. Then through some twisties up to Korumburra then more ridgeline twisties up to Drouin. Then nice cruise back to Pakenham (and possibly a coffee at Maccas if some of you have time). Lucky you if you have a passenger cos there are some awesome dale pics as we straddle the ridges.

All up about 280km round trip - all on sealed roads (except a little bit on well made dirt road near Wonthaggi). There some roads with the occasional pot hole - as you would expect in the country - so CB will be essential on this cruise.

Please be aware there are some incredible twisties on this route - best let any passengers know of potential motion sickness. :buttonit:

Also, please ensure you have a contigency plan if you have a breakdown - like a mate who is willing to stay with you if necessary or RACV Roadside Assistance.

BRING:
Recommend bring UHF 40 channel CB Radio to keep across road hazards and general chatter. EvilDaifu has a few CBs for free loan on the cruise if anyone is interested - just PM EvilDaifu to reserve one.
Optional GPS so you know where you are, where you been and how to get where you wanna go :roflmbo:
Camera for the photo opps and the views.
Sunnies :cool1:
If you have an edit - maybe your flash boxes incase you need it - don't laugh :innocent:
Spare car keys

RULES:
1. Obey all laws whilst on the cruise; this means no speeding, no overtaking over double lines (no matter how safe you think it may be), etc...

2. There is a designated cruise leader who will lead the way and set the correct pace for all cruise members.

3. Use the Buddy system - always make sure you can see the car behind you. This will give people behind you an indication on where to turn to make sure nobody gets lost.

4. CB Radios - if you don't have one, follow the maps and directions given out. It is highly recommended to have CB as it enhances the enjoyment of the cruise being able to hear about road hazards and join in on the social chatter.

5. Please turn up to the meeting points with a sufficient fuel in your tank and enough time before the departure time.

6. Onus is on the owner/driver to ensure their vehicle is safe to drive on public roads and meets State road traffic authority laws.

7. Please ensure you have a contingency plan if you have a breakdown or unnecessarily delayed. e.g. Roadside Assistance or a mate in another car who is willing to stay with you if necessary.

8. By attending this cruise you agree not to hold FordXR6Turbo.com, it's Administrators, Moderators, Cruise Controllers, or Owner responsible / liable for any damage and / or grief sustained (simply; you are responsible for your own actions).

Hi mate, I could only see a Caltex selling E-Flex I.e. E85 in Clayton.

I hear E85 is less fuel efficient - but it's probably only about 380km round trip back to the Caltex - not sure how much mileage you get from a full tank with E85 - but maybe that will do. You may need to bring a 10 litre jerry can justin case maybe
