For straight line stuff the auto is quicker. When you want spirited driving though manual hands down.

I can see that the auto would be faster but I'd honestly go manual if I got one of these. Its a car that needs to be driven, not just steered...plus I'd be doing big clutch dumps EVERYWHERE

The auto is ok,but I wasn't too impressed when I took the f6 for a test drive. The YouTube vid shows a 135m bmw accelerating,it has an auto box that shifts very fast.If Ford could have the auto box shift as fast as what's in the clip and have no other performance enhancements in the next update, that improvement alone could shave a few tenths of the 1/4 mile run.

Yes a ZF tune would do the trick but would it not be great if the tranny came "out of the box" with very fast shifting speeds.

Ford/FPV could at least offer it as a part of a performance package.Virtually all of the German high performance names have

additional performance packages available for their cars and that includes M division BMW,Merc,Porsche and Audi

I had a good read of that performance car cup on the weekend and I am positive they said they used a ZF auto GT Rspec.

I will have to check it again tonight.

Yep, just checked it.

It has a 6 speed manual written on the specs at the end of the article by mistake.

If you read the article they say opted for an auto for this test, so those figures are for the ZF
