think of it this way,

is it fair to loose your job and income for doing 30 km over - I dont think so.

Go back 15 years and you could do 45 or over and loose 6 points and about $500 bucks I think.

go back 15 years and you could do 80kmh past all these schools that now have 40kmh limits - should we retroactively charge all of us that drove at 80 for years or the govt bureaucrat that made the speed limit 80 back then????

I know of a half a dozen roads near me that are 60 but 90% of people do atleast 80-90 - steep and no foot paths - cops dont hammer them either cause the speed limits are wrong.

that's why I like courts because they can decide what the situation was at the time and make a fair call

You are contradicting yourself?

One minute you didn't know you were speeding and the next you wouldn't have gone that fast if other cars/people were around?

Which one is it? You're gonna look like a dick in court at this rate

I think he means, when there is no other cars and stuff around its hard to gauge wether your speeding... If im on the hwy and im going past cars easily I look at the speedo wondering 'sh*t how fast I'm going', but if there were no cars around I'd prob not notice it as easily. Plus I think he was going down hill, these cars are heavy bastards and need a foot on the brake on some small hills to not go over the limit.. So I understand where hes coming from, but 30+km/h is a lot...

HAHA my reply got deleted!

let me put it a little less harsh.

If you had no idea that you were travelling at 30kph over the speed limit, you deserve to lose your licence.

is that better tab?

Some of the replys scary to think some people have this attitude and have a 250+rwkw vehicle in there hands the road is a serious place don't let it cost people's lives for you to realise how serious yes some speed limits are ridiculous but majority of the limits if your in excess of 25ks you are a f*ckwit and you don't deserve a licence let alone a powerful vehicle

Please stop being stupid UBA.

Some of the replys scary to think some people have this attitude ...

What attitude exactly? Who here exactly has condoned reckless driving as you are suggesting?

Have you never exceeded the speed limit by 25km/h yourself?
