The tuner can control the power output of the engine but what the gearbox can handle is predetermined, as an owner you either want the power or you don't!

And u can look up the APS review, their findings where the low down torque was the killer of the T5 by bring the boost in later they found the box much less likely 2 break in higher rpm. TheOne Member 80 Member For: 13y 2m Gender: Male Posted 21/12/12 04:19 AM Share Posted 21/12/12 04:19 AM In response to ratter - how about, considering you're a tuner, you explain to me why a reputable company such as APS came to this conclusion in regards to the box? The review that I have read has stated this fact and from what I can remember they were able to manage a time slip with a high 10 second pass I believe. Also I am more than aware that there are lots of people running the T5 with 300+kw and haven't had any issues with their box. I understand they're not a very strong gearbox but everyone gives people so much crap for getting a 5 speed, whereas if you have someone who knows what they're doing with the 5 speed it appears that you are able to get good power figures out of them. It would be nice if a certain moderator of this site would stop acting like such a know it all dickhead.

Really? It would also be nice if a certain member would accept the well know facts about the T5 gear box instead of trying to create there own version of the truth to justify the parts that have fitted to thier car.Ps call me a know it all dickhead again and you'll be know it all member on a 30 day holiday.from the article on the APS website:"Now, we all know the limiting factor with the XR6 Turbo in manual form is that the gearbox is odds-on to explode if you go pumping more than the 450 Nm through it that the stock engine develops. Well, it will, says Luxon, if you try to boost the torque at low engine speeds when there’s a heap of load on the tranny’s internals. But leave the huffing and puffing till later in the revs and you can up the ante without necessarily grenading the T5. Nothing wrong with the theory. Till it goes crunch, anyway, and it didn’t while we had it.Left standard, the Falcon blows about 6 psi of boost at about 3500 rpm and tails it off to about 5 psi between 5000 and 5500.Respecting the gearbag’s lack of fortitude, Luxon has left the boost alone below about 3000 rpm and then ramped it up to max out at around 9 psi at 3500. In the interests of reliability, it then tails off to about 7 psi at 5500 rpm, and everybody’s happy."Less than inspiring detune the car to suit the shite gearbox, and they journo's still dont have faith it won't fail. I have had T5s in the past that have handled decent power without a problem though. The BA T5 mercury grey APS vehicle I'm speaking of also recorded a top speed of over 300km per hour. Read up on it. It's adorable that you think your opinion is the most important in the world, but this is just a car forum buddy. You might need to get in touch with reality there.Guess you can dish it out on almost every single thread to people who have a differing opinion to yours but you can't take it. Classic trait of a KNOW IT ALL DICKHEAD.30 day holiday doesn't bother me the way it would bother you because unlike yourself, I have a life outside of a car forum. You should try it sometime.
