I remember over a year ago my turbo blew up and I was the first in our state and maybe everywhere for our cars to try one,allot of people on a few forums were waiting for results,A fair few said it was also a waste of time didn't they jet and that I should just stick with the std BA item,all I could say is it looks the goods specs wise and I will report back.

Even with the taller 1st gear in the 4spd she still gets on boost the same and pulls much harder up top.

stand by it for low end gilly the 76 might of been better

if this is achieveable off std turbo why go gtx unless on the hunt for more, the 82 is what the boys are using to brake the 500 mark not the 350 mark

Who says I am finished and the GTX does the same job all round with room to move up top as the BA turbo for the same price,well for me it was.Its like me saying why did you stop at 400rwkw when the turbo can flow allot more,just a cheap entry to the argument with no basis/substance.

Mate,the 3576 phase will pass trust me.I have had 4 different turbo on this car and the GTX3582 is by far the best.

So why go GTX unless on the hunt for more.....hmmmm,may of answered your own question there Jet.BTW,you never mentioned the 3576GTX back then so using that in your argument now is moot.

GTX is definately a " new technology " turbo and its getting better and better results but for 16psi it would be at very simular spec wise to the stock 35/40 so iam not seeing any gain there ( unless u can prove the IT's are dramatically lower but as I said its only at 16psi in your case ) its the upper limits where the GTX 82 really starts to pull away from the stock 3540. we all know the stock 3540 is efficiant to approx 23 psi a beez dick either way and with a cooler kit it can be tuned to decent power, so again people changing turbo's at low levels seems like a big over kill for the desired goal

anyone can change a turbo and if uve smashed your old one yeh if the $$$ is the same definately get it, but for the pure pourpose of " iam gunna ghange my turbo to get to 400" its a waste of time IMHO

its like that time u put the fg xr6 turbo on your ba and had negitive results........................it was just the set up because weve seen the stock " small turbo" get up to the 127mph range so its been proven.

the current op 's question I feel now is old tech with the GTX avaliable for not much more coin and better all over results, as said more lag down low makes the 4.0 a pig where as stock or GTX82 will run rings around the upgrade at mind

a coupla years ago it was one of the better way 's to go but now we have new better turbo's avaliable and bulk R&D done..

Come for a drive in my 16psi,no E85,std trans and stall and compare it to your old BA Jet.I am serious here as my car will absolutely put it to shame and the GTX is a big factor in this.You had what 330's on a mix/built auto/stally....that should be faster than 350rwkw on a non mix tune with smaller exhaust,stad trans/stall etc but it was way slower everywhere.

Bring the Fg along also and we can side by side them and see who has the faster street car lol.

Your opinion and what my future goals are are nothing you can put in the one sentence with an ounce of substance without being rude.I bought a VH SLE at 16 and said I would get it to run 11's by the time I am 21.....Im a gunnnna mighta diddda did it didn't he so I am confident this one will eventuate also without the need for me buying a turbo for 350rwkw and then buying another for 400rwkw and then another for 500rwkw.......the GTX3582 does them all,aren't I lucky haha.The GTX at 400rwkw will beat a std 3540 at 400rwkw all things equal.They spool the same but the GTX makes some more upper mid range and will slowly pull away.

That day the car would not accept timing.It made 286rwkw at 12psi of boost which is ok isn't it for a small FG turbo?

Lets agree to disagree unless you want to come for that ride,offer stands.This will show you the merit of using a GTX3582 at 350rwkw but having the ability to flex muscles way further down the track.

I think the OP will prefer the added spool gains without sacrificing top end power with the GTX.
