You cant discount peoples experiences and just say where's the evidence. I once missed a service on my sisters VL many moons ago. I think it was a Castrol GTX product but not totally sure but whatever it was completely and absolutely gunked the whole engine up in about 25k km from my estimation. I was so surprised. I had to rip it apart and rebuild it. It was that bad. Just glug.

If I hear a wiff of bad about any oil I stay away. Just not worth risking glug in an engine, not even in an old engine.

The trick with the magnatec is to use the same positive magnet to push the old oil out didn't you all go to a school with magnets

I use Castrol edge 10w60 fully synthetic bit expensive but great piece of mind that the turbo has good oil flow
