Ratter's comment about is also confirmed by the below link. I purchased the Walbro 255lph complete in a 33% larger cradle to reduce any surge. But this is probably a little overkill but that's the way I like it.

I've just brought a whole lot of process west gear, spoke to kevin about fuel pumps. he was saying leave the stock pump and go the pw surge, hes seen plenty of cars 400+ with stock pump with pw surge setup, I got the surge cos I'm planing on going bigger power latter on, plus it sounds pretty sweet when turning the key and hearing everything prime up

I run stock intank and a plaz surge and making over 400kw...if I was you mate do the surge and 044 as I guarantee you will want more then 300kw when you get used to it...

Never leave a stock pump in to fill a surge

Always fit an intank first ! Then a surge

Walk then run

why? im never going to stay at wot for long enough to drain a surge while a stock intank is filling it especially if im only using 98...if I was to go for a duel 044 surge and chase more power on 98 then you would be mad not to do an intank. Or if I was using e85 to make my 400kw I would be using an intank pump and a duel 044. But at 300s/low 400s on 98 is it really needed?

The stock intank pump on the FG can fill a 044 surge tank no worries(work out the maths and disagree lol),it flows the fuel easier due to not having rail etc to attend with.A stock BA pump feeding a 044.....yeah nah.

Just because you have a surge tank though I still wouldn't run the fuel lower than 1/8th of a tank.In my BA I still don't flog it unless a 1/4 is in her as the BA pick up is not as efficient, still have to fill another tank so any surge/air going the 044's way will be forwarded onto the engine.

Its more aimed at b series the stock intank is getting on on years and the cradle set up is not as good as fg (b series suffer more surge) its an item that costs $200 and whats the point in having a fire hose connected to a garden tap ?

Its cost a few blokes an engine with the assumption that the surge tank has them safe guarded, b series stock pumps are only ok just and because they are so cheap why bother with a 5year old small pump to feed a $1100 surge tank

A surge will only be as good as the lift pump feeding it after a few pulls (even on a dyno )
