I had my mate come have a look at it who is a macanic for toll and he thinks my oil pumps not flowing enuf at low revs to loob the rockers and I need a new oil pump

what is the oil pressure ment to be on idl for this motor?

I have a oil pressure gauge witch is not connected but I will have it connected tomorrow morning to check

is your dipstick tube fully seated? did it take 8.5ltrs of oil to fill it?

Mate, get a proper gauge and hook it up. Something is wrong and dont drive it till you find out what it is, otherwise you may stuff your new bottom end.

Yes, it sounds like oil pressure not getting to the rockers and that may also mean not getting to the bottom end.

Did you touch the head at all after you took it off your old engine??

Cold start idol I think mine sits around 60psi? When hot it will idol around 35psi? Those are off the top of my head but gives you an idea...

ill connect the gauge up tomorrow and see what happens...

the head was recoed and tested I re assembled the cams and rockers as per ford specs

Yer I agree, Did you bleed the lifters after you pulled them out? I wouldnt start it until you put an oil pressure gauge on it and even then prime it before you strart it to see if it builds oil pressure.

How long have you run it? it really sounds like the lifters are not bleading up..

What stee said is also likely happening, these lifters can be a bitch.

Check oil pressure and lifter bleed.

SRS question......did it take a full sumps worth of oil? you want be getting any oil to the top end otherwise

If it did take a sumps worth, drop 400ml of trans fluid into the oil it will make its way into the lifters and assist in bleeding them. Once they are pumped up drain the oil and flush it with cheap chit and the refill with your oil of choice.

yeah ill do that tomorrow and see how I go and ill report my findings to you guys ...
