The code is P1134. The mechtronic is basically the brain that tells the transmission at what gear to be in for what speed. Thinking that the repair would be a simple repair like take off the sump again pull out the offending speed sensor and repalcing it, oh no not in these brilliantly designed german built boxes the mechtronic unit is apart of the valve body and depending on the spec of them they are between $2200-$3000. then there is the cost of the fluid AGAIN and installation and ofcourse reflashing the trans to suit the new mechtronic control unit so all up around $4000-$4500. So I asked FRAUD how much does a new trans cost $8500-$9000 plus install. So I decided to call Zf directly and they sell them complete with fluid and a torque converter tuned to spec for $5000 excahange (provide they have no water or accident damage), with transport costs of around $300 and removal and installation of the new box and a remote oil cooler of $700 ican have a brand new box fitted for the grand total of $6000 probably my best choice I feel. so this is just a friendly warning that replacing a failed mechtronic unit is almost as costly as a new transmission. Dont forget "fraud" tack their little profit margin on the parts which is 30-50% of what they get it for.
