I have done the solenoid mod with EAs to ELs. I am sure you can do it with the B series but the way you do it is a little different in the B series. One of the solenoids works opposite to the e series from memory.

I thought the B series allowed you to select 2nd then put it into 1st. I have done this with the e series box via a switch and it works pretty good. Not as harsh as I expected and you can build boost very easily in second then drop it to first to take off. Like a rocket and plenty of smoke. It will stall up to around 2700 rpm having it in 2nd. Its a built motor with To4Z and stock convertor

The thing is that I have done all this stuff with not really sticky tyres (100 treatwear but they still spin easy) so basically not much stress compared to warmed up M/Ts.

But you should try the S3 S4 mod again. Tell me how you wired it up and I will have a look at it.

So are you trialling it before he puts it out for retail or is this purely at the development stage ?

I know the standard stall can be raised is it the same with these ?

Thankyou, reference points are good for him from people who have raced often.

I will investigate what a set of new clutches will cost and see if the solenoid mod can be done, its purely the lack of line pressure from them under WOT as factory wants it making it slip, the actual parts in a turbo box are quite capeable I recon.I know a built box will fix it without this mod but it's worth a try as from info I have found earlier models with this mod have had 400rwkw put through them without slip,.either way it wont hurt.

Did you ever have issues with your modified stall Jet as Sam got rid of the fella making them due to inconsistency,I don't remember you ever complaining about it?He has 2-3 in his shop cut open and I have seen first hand the damage inside made.He took my car for a drive the other day and definitely noticed the converter working more efficiently were his words. He is interested in speaking to the fella making them.

Here is the timeslip, sorry for the poor quality but my scanner won't sink tself with my new computer. This run was against a fella with a Force6 from Mt Gambier that's also tuned by bruce. We had 6-7 seven cars from his stable out there from memory.

Now mine got done from sa race obviously but this was when sam had his "original" converter bloke doing the cut and shut

Mine was a 2800 unit but I could get it to 3100 on foot brake ( never tryed hand brake ) this is all at heathcote with 275 m/t's

I honestly believe it would of done a better 60 easy if I had another shot at it , I seen 10psi and glanced at 3100rpm and off I went .... Felt very tight still I really think a hand brake or me just being a bit harder would of seen it drop no worries

After I got my converter/box built I recomended others to go see sam .... Roughly at that time sam swopped converter blokes and I had a few good mates hand over nearly 4k for built box and custom modified converters last no longer than 1000kms..... Converter bloke used a shim instead of a bearing and destroyed the converters and pumped alloy through out the boxes and killed them basically ... Very un happy customers to say the least and watching sam pass the buck so fast and not stand by his product/choice of converter bloke was shocking ( this is another story though )

All in all mine was as stock to drive real tight and smooth but get on it and it did its job real well id actually say it was the best mod to date I ever did

Yeah I would have thought he would have wore some of the cost, not all of it but at least most of it.that's what happened to my built box,had the std stally put back in due to an issue and another mod wanted to be done to the aftermarket stally and pumped all the fins through the trans.

Anywhoo his original bloke had it sussed the next bloke was "having a go" and it showed

So where from here carl ?

Take it easy and get some of these economy claims backed up first hand ?

Yep,I have shown she can 60ft well with low boost, well better than the std stall and with more room in it.I think my 1.75 with the std stall was getting to the best it could do without boiling the fluid a heap. This new converter flows allot better he said,I am slowly getting some more tech info from him.

Due to selling a house next year some funds will will be their to build what ever I want, transbraked BTR anyone lol.

I am just impatient and like to get the most out of what I have tbh,I think another trip to the strip will hurt the box to the tune where daily driving will be compromised a little.I will look at the cheaper fixes or bandaids if you will until then.

Hi Guys, thanks to the help and perserverance of Bruce Heinrich performance & tuning, Who has provided test vechicals work shop and dyno testing for the last 3 years of R&D into the Borgwarner torque converter (very little has changed in this converter since it's conseption it is one of the oldest style converters used and it has been used widely. Every Ford with a Borgwarner transmission , also used in a myriad of cars and trucks makes. LandRover, Jaguar, Crysler just to name a few)

For those who want some insight to it's workings it is a Super Charged Torque Converter ™ is the easiest way of explaining it's actions so I've coined this here for future use it will distinguish my product and brand SCTC ™

Bottom End Torque

, a caristic of Super Charging now achieved with the Super Charged Torque Converter ™ the torque curve dyno shows a reversal of where torque multiplying takes effect and why the use of the lock up clutch in all modern standard cars. The stock lock up clutch type converter losses traction in the top end as it starts to slip multiplying of kw happens but traction is lost. To over come this the gear clutch engineers at Borgwarner fitted tthe lock up clutch to take up this slip that is an inate fault with the stock converter. This problem of slippage has now been solved with out the lock up clutch.

The SuperChargedTorqueConverter ™ multiplies Torque and Kw in the bottom end ,3rd gear gains 26Kw at the stab point on the dyno comparison of a dead stock tuned EL 4.0L (from 50 to 76kw) spins the wheels easy.

Pulls well even in 4th.

Instant Kick Down.

you'll love the feel of this, instaniously gorn Pheww, the drive is the experance. Bruce felt it. He'd only recomend a product that he knows works. Should be enough said..

Top End

Extra 16 kmph and 9kw extra at comparison point to stock .

Driving is believing

Ain't that right Karl. A Great big thank you to you also we wouldn't be here with out you. Karl willing to give it a go and start this post and plug a great product that he obviously feels it is. Cheers Mate
