Some tuners iv spoke to recommend it and some don't and say that it puts extra pressure on the tranny, should I leave it stick or go for a zf tune ? cheers

I have been running 400kw with mine tuned and so far all good.

There still needs to be some torque reduction on shifts so it's advised not to remove it all together. One of the common failures after tuning is breaking the input shaft. If you do tune the ZF then I think the common recommendation is to budget to replace this shaft in case of failure.Benny.

Drove a standard fg turbo and the gear box felt so sluggish compared to my tuned one

Not all ZF tunes are the sameSounds like they had it banging in. Mine was a bit harsh 1-2 but they just took 10% out of it from memory and now it's good. My main reason for tuning was the gear hold it suffered from post engine tune. It still hangs on more than I'd like sometimes tbh. Seems to confuse itself sometimes when going over the crest of hills depending on throttle position or if I've given it a little bit of stick and backed off. I may bring back the fart in the new year when she has some more power on board.

I do miss the fact it use to get through the gears well when tuned, stock ZF tune often lets it touch the limiter. But around town its 100% better. Clinton reckons he has ZFs sorted so I might get another tune one day
