I bought a repairable write off after the Newcastle floods. it had 79000ks on it and was reported as fresh water damage. It must have only got the carpets wet. Done 140ks now and still going strong. Best buy I've ever made.

Though I would have walked away if it had been body damage. different thing altogether.

Hey all, I'm looking at buying a bf mk 2 xr6t, my only issue with it is that is has 240000k"s. it's got 400hp and the basic mods. Has all logbooks and is in very good condition, are there any common problems that occur with these k"s? I'm swapping it with my vy ss and really can't afford anything to go wrong. Any help/info would be great. Thanks

depends on how much you're spending on the car... With those km's it would want to be around $7000 or less... Otherwise its worth spending a bit more and getting a car with much less kms

Id avoid that sort of ks if you're looking at chasing numbers.. unless you're prepared for gearbox/engine builds plus the niggling issues like wheel bearings/bushes/mounts/brake pads and rotors etc etc

Its a bit of a risk even though BF mk 2's should have the stronger rods and gearbox should be fairly tuff.. All I can say is get it looked at thoroughly by someone who knows these things inside and out.. Check that the tune is fine, make it less of a risk for yourself... My BA has just under 200,000kms so for a MK 2 BF it is a lot of kms..

Your already winning getting rid of the SS lol...

Yeah it's had all rotors pads etc replaced, I stuffed a ring on my vy that's the only reason I'm thinking about it as I can't be bothered building a new engine for it. The bf is my mates car so I know exactly what's Done to it. I'd just hate to get it then have the engine or something break in it:/
