I bought an ex cop car around 5-6months ago, had 101000km , only problem was a diff leak, runs like a beauty !

Anyone know which type of fuel cops use? since taxpayers are paying, hope they used 98

Howdy, by looking at your profile pic looks like you just brough one.

Servicing is spot on but for that the car gets a flogging every day

Have a look at the link

I have had a few cop cars, never really had a problem come up because it was a cop car.

You just have to find one that's clean inside and out, from my experience I would say about 1 or 2 in 10 cars are in quite good condition and with decent kms.

The current problem now is that the cops are keeping them longer, so it's harder to get one with decent kms...but if it's within the 3 years and under 100,000KM get the MyFord extended warranty.

Currently have an FG, the only thing I did for piece of mind was to extend the manufacturers warranty, so I have an extra 3 years and 100,000km on top of the standard warranty.

The one I have is the proper Ford Factory one.

Car was serviced every 10,000KMS...

I would definately buy another one, but you just need to be patient, to find a decent one.

Otherwise you can buy one in poor to very average condition really cheap, I have seen high KM FGs gor for 18K.

Much of muchness really. Some say their good value, others won't touch them.

Cop cars all get flogged but most private cars get a good thrash every now and then too so its too hard to know.

As boost69 said if you can find one with decent kms and its in good condition then that's all you can really check for

I bought mine with 90,000ks on the clock, I picked it up for $22,500

advertised price was 28,500 so I think I got a pretty good deal.

always serviced at ford ever 10,000

as for the fuel I hope they didn't use E10

which dealer did you buy it off? I got mine straight from the auctions for 23k, a bit steep of a price as there were 3 people bidding tht really badly wanted the car. I probably spent 2k too much, but it was in heaps better condition then the normal white marked ones, mine was an unmarked/undercover ex cop

Pretty sure its E10 not 100% but was beside a Highway xr6t yesterday at a caltex and he was filling with E10.

Have found a nice looking black 2008 fg ute in Victoria. It has 105,000kms and they're asking $24999, reckon this sounds reasonable? I was a little concerned by the kms, how many kms do these cars usually stay reliable for?

The car has leather, prem sound and a sun roof also. As its from a dealer and I'm salary sacrificing this I believe I do not have to pay gst, so at the moment it would actually cost me around $22.5k (of course I'd haggle a bit also!)
