Providing it's been repaired properly I would not have a problem with it (there not built to such a high standard anyway ) If the other repairs are done properly -with some kind of warranty - you would be cheering ,it could ( and does ) happen to any car at a latter time & you would have to pay. Perhaps take it for a 4 wheel alighnment & I would assume if there were frame problems it would show up with the position of the adjustments.

Hi mate I've had a bit of a read of your thread.

I've got a couple of cents spare tonight and I'm happy to share fwiw.

I wouldn't buy anything less than a 2007 bfmk2. Better for middle ground  modding without breaking.

I prefer the look of the bf but I like the engine layout of the fg better.

I looked for roughly 6 months in sa for my car (stock 07 bf mk2) due to a lack of available non modded cars. This was nearly 2 years ago and prices have fallen slightly.

Like any car just make sure it has a service history and it's not molested inside, under or out.

Imo don't buy a slightly broken one or something that needs the last 5 years of neglected maintenance done when you buy it. It's not worth it.

Cars come up for sale fairly regularly and once you have done your research and decided what you need, you will find your car.

Imho bide your time and find your perfect car. I don't think you are there yet.

Good luck and stay patient.

^ this.

Absolutely dont rush. Dont pay too much for a stock one. You will find one that will just feel right. Dont rush or get ants in your pants to just buy as you will regret it later

Thanks guys I appreciate it! I have been looking for a while and do like both. Not rushing at this stage just keen to hear opinions on which would be the better option of the two??

(More for future reference than anything)

cheers

I paid $11600 for my 07 Bfmk2 nearly 2 years ago from a dealer.

It had a full service history, 138xxxkm and had a full engine rebuild at 99000km due to bring driven with a faulty head gasket.

It came with reciepts that exceeded the price I paid for it.

Hi all thanks for the help.  I have one more for now.

Thoughts on this one and price acceptable? Keep in mind I am in SA so this would take extra cost in that regard.

Well I gotta get my FG inspected at regency and assuming it needs the standard box as a Pod filter may not pass? Was just wondering where I may be able to  source one?

Sorry about my previous post, it was past my bed time.

Have you called all of the wrecking yards?

There are a couple of things on ebay that are a bit pricey and there is one on Gumtree in Victoria for $40.

It might be worth a call to see if the bloke would post it.

You could always chuck up a wanted ad on Gumtree.
