I've read through most of the FAQ's, buyers guides etc but I still want some personal opinions. Its finally time to retire my trusty R31 and upgrade to something a bit newer.I've always loved xr6t's and have my heart set on one. My budget is around 10k - 11max, looking around theres a lot of BA's and a few BF's. Ideally I want something completely stock with <150000k's. Also pretty set on auto as I hear theyre a bit stronger than the manuals. I have a few questions I'm hoping some people can offer their help on...1. Is the BF 6-speed really THAT much better than the BA 4 speed ?2. Theres a lot for sale with just over 100000K's, is there a reason? still have plenty of life in them?3. Will be used to tow a track car every so often, reckon they're pretty good at towing ?4. Anything to look out for when looking at cars to buy ?Thanks guys, hope to be in an xr6t soooon! I have not driven a turbo 4 speed auto and only test driven a few BF 6 speeds, but I have an NA BA 4 speed auto wagon and an FG G6ET. The 6 speed auto in the FG is fantastic. WAY better than the 4 speed in our BA. If I was in your shoes I would be going for a BF for the 6 speed box. I generally prefer manual, but if the choice was a manual which shifts like the one in my friends NA BA XR6 (slow to shift) or a 6 speed auto like my G6ET has, I may well have chosen the auto. I wanted a G6ET, so there was no choice for a manual. I hope all of that is helpful.2. I would guess its a mental thing for the people selling them. "100000 ks! It's old now, time to replace it." Rather than "100000 ks It's still got 2/3rd of its life left, but I will have lost 2/3rd of the money I paid buying it"3. I have not towed with my FG, but have towed a few things with the BA. I would expect either BA turbo or BF turbo to be fine for towing.4. I am sure reading on here will give much better info on what to look for than what I could write up.Good luck with your purchase I am sure you will love the upgrade! Was initially going to buy a turbo Subaru of some kind but ever since my brother bought an FG F6E, life's been hard deciding what I want.Found an FG XR6T MkII for sale for the right price and was definitely considering it. Is there anything I should look for when inspecting the vehicle? Starting mods?Cheers guys!
