aside from my car having just potentially bent valves (yep, stock as a rock and went pop)... would the leather trim on the gear shifter be warranted? manual box. it not worn, or broken, but it spins quite freely on the knob. like the glue has broken loose.

I'd assume ANY water leaks too would be covered? ive noticed some water marks on the plenum/intake, and BOV plumback hose.

Cool cool. Might aswell claim whole lot while its in hey!

Hit the brakes hard from 50kph, she stalled (foot on clutch) and never restarted. Massive knock in the head.

Hope its a replace, not repair. As much as there are some good mechs about, there isn't the same quality control that would be seen from factory assembly.

And axle tramp. Is this a design thing (ie does it from new) or had something already failed?

As long as its not too modified they will replace whatever is faulty, id have rathered they sent me a long motor for the one I was talkin about but they sent a complete head... Pistons all had marks in them but told to reuse.

As far as axle tramp some do it worse than others, make sure tyre pressures arent too high and all bushes are ok

So Bionic, let me get this straight....

You work for Ford? So you're telling me instead of replacing a faulty long motor which shows obvious signs of damage you have been told to do a half ass job, patch it up and get the guy off your lot.... Right? You hold no duty of care what so ever but if I was you I would be contacting the owner and notifying him of the issue...

Because if that was my car and I somehow down the track did find out I would be f*cking wild and wanting blood...

What a piece of sh*t business the Ford motor company is. I hope they go broke, with customer care as poor as this they don't deserve to be listed as an Aussie car manufacturer..

I regret selling my SS more than ever now. When that car had issue they were fixed quickly and with no questions and the car always came back in better shape.

SO ANGRY!!

Funny, I had pretty much the same service from Expensive Daewoo and even their complaints department crapped all over me. NEVER again will I buy a Holden. That being said my last service at Metro Ford Newstead was an absolute nightmare, so I'm not going near a Ford servicing centre at all from now on provided I can help it.

They all suck.

As for the matts, I don't know if they're different to the BF but when my silver logos came off I just glued them back on. I hope the matts are safer in the FG too because I've had several occasions where if the matt isn't clipped in properly the front of them can flip over the accelerator when you're giving it some. Insanely dangerous...

I know they both suck, its more the fact I jumped ship and supported another aussie brand instead of going for something I knew would give me less trouble, like a carolla lol...

In the end both company's only have them selves to blame if they go bust. Poor quality, poor service and people are sick and tired of it. 40k for a turbo ute might not seem like a lot of money but when you add it all up its simply not worth the long term hassles.

My next car will be a mazda or golf or some other reliable POS...

Months ago they would have sent us a long motor but times have changed they are going broke. I share the exact same sentiment if it was my car id be pissed but the small marks in the pistons will be fine at stock levels and that's all they warrant. The owner is fully aware.

Interesting....

Marks in the pistons would suggest undue stress on rods, big ends, little ends, and god knows what else.

I know "it will be fine at stock" but that hardly seems right.

The leather wrap on my gear knob isn't going anywhere, I'm sure it'll be fine.

It's not leaking much water. It'll have enough in it between services. It'll be fine.

You see?

Not having a go personally. Just a little insight that I do appreciate, and I know ill have to watch over this closely.
