She couldn't care less if she drives it or not. To her it's just a car to get from A to B.

Saying a car is for going from A to B is like saying sex is just for reproduction. (awesome quote I read somewhere).

Just started a new job and with it comes a fully maintained company car, brand new Mondeo Wagon TD.

Now do I sell the G6ET? I know I won't drive it much, maybe couple times a month. I fully own it and could put the money into our mortgage but have put a lot of personal touches into it and would hate to see it go.

What to do?

Im in the same boat, I get a company ovlovo and I change it over every 7500km/8months. The Panda has been sitting doing nothing, infact the old lady has been driving it around.

Yes you can imagine the looks she gets, a 53yr old hooning around. She loves it though haha. You have paid yours off so no real drama there.

I say keep it for 3 months and see how you feel then

I hop into mine on the weekends to give it a thrash and clean. Love it too much, but I think the end is near

sell the car and get a bike

you wont get back the depreciation on the g6e

+1.

$20k in the bank and $10k on a bike or old school car.

Best of both worlds.

Its a no brainer, sell. Cars are the worst investment known to mankind. Its just going to depreciated sitting in your shed. Good luck with the sale but, Ive got my 2008 fg turbo 83000km for sale on here + carsales + gumtree + ebay at a giveaway price of $21900 and would take $21500 but haven't even had a call. Its a truly immaculate, much loved, well serviced car with every option except leather. Not one call even at that price. Theres BF's on there for that.

I had a company car in a previous job - kept my car.

Lucky I did, changed jobs into something that had no company car.

Is your job ABSOLUTELY rock solid?

I was lucky - ACT allows cars to be registered only 3 months a year - and you dont have to pay catch up. Dont have to keep them registered continuously.

Just use the company car for exactly that - the company. Not private as well. If you dont need to sell it, dont.

and for all females that treat cars as a means of transport and nothing else; eabod. Get back in the kitchen and make me a sammach

I am planning on it taking a while. Hopefully all my extra goodies(brakes/diff/suspension etc) along with only 15k on the clock and remainder of NCW will help it to sell.
