That's the big dilemma!! I have put a lot into this car......if I had had the car a couple more years I would have felt I have got my money back through the enjoyment of driving it daily.

My annual cost would be around this:

$700 rego

$800 insurance

$300 annual service(assuming very low kms)

$300 petrol(1-2000km)

IMO if you have to do the sums to save a couple of K on a mortgage then you should have bought the Mondeo wagon from the beginning.

no point having 2 Mondeos so would make the decision to sell now a lot easier.

I don't have to sell the G6, our mortgage isn't that much really. Just seems a shame having a car that I will hardly drive.

I cry when I think how much it will have cost me if I sell.

Ok for me, I would LOVE to be in the position that I could leave the XR in the garage to keep the KMs down, and keep the car in overall better condition. and drive another car that is fully paid for.

The way I would think about it, I love cars, its not going to cost you more to have it sit in the garage. Less maintenance on the G6 as it doesnt get driven so much etc.

Obviously it comes down to priorities, But if you dont HAVE to sell it hang on to it for a while. You can always sell it later on if you have to.

Plus you just lose too much on these cars.

I know my heart wants to keep it but my partner has no heart vs head dilemma.

One last thing about keeping it it this need to want to do more modifications. Love this Forum but.....just gives me more ideas about what to do next.

If you don't need it sell it. Put into the home loan and when time is right for you redraw and get something later down the track. If it sits there and Ks are low, won't make a difference when you go to sell it. If its a expense you don't need fark

It off. House will always go up in value, quicker you pay it off the better. Car will always go down, sell it while its still worth something.
