Now that more manufacturers are using this size the price should come down. Unfortunatly Expensive Daewoo use 235/40 and Ford 245/40, the 235's are more common, but of course you could go for the slightly smaller width anyway.l went through the exercise with 18's last week as we just sold our car, 245/40/18'sThe Dunlops originally fitted to the car were $550eaMany great tyres available in $430-$460 range, Pirelli, Yokohama etcWent for Kumho 712's at $299ea. These are a good compromise tyre which the buyer was happy with.17's are maybe 30-40% cheaper on average tan their 18" equivalent, l think Mr Plow, who is a regular here, works at a tyre place, he may be able to jump in on this thread with a better idea.
