So for the quest of a quieter fuel system I have tried rubber mounting my surge tank and then rubber mounting the A1000 pump to the surge tank bracket, this had the setup marginally better but still the sys. was noisy.

I had my bonnet open tonight while talking to a guy from work about my fuel setup when he sez to me your nuts mate why have you got your fuel reg. mounted to the body?? do you know how noisy those carnts are!?!

Sure enough I felt the thing and listened closely and he was right they are noisy as phuck..?! The vibration from the reg. travels right thru the body and make the resonating racket that Ive been hearing.

So anyway here is a pic of where I had the fuel reg. mounted originally 9EcXJ.jpg

and here is where it is mounted now. You may be able to see the drop down bracket I made which fixes to 1 of the intake manifold bolts.

Result is well worth sharing and I suggest anyone with a setup like in my 1st pic should have a go at isolating the fuel reg from the body by a means of mounting the reg. to the motor like I did or maybe rubber mounting it.

I've got mine where yours was. Is it harder to read the gauge/adjust the pressure where you've put it? I might look at insulating mine if I find it noisy but think I'll keep it where it is. The A1000 is hell noisy.

They are pretty much set and forget really anyway. Ideally the gauge would b best in the car rather than under the hood.

I would suggest just trying what I've done as it takes sfa time to make the bracket and you will seriously be suprised how much it shuts it up.

I thought it was just the pump making the majority of the noise but now im thinking it was 50/50.

I reckon mounting to the motor would work better than rubber mounting back to the body + it's still easy enough to adjust it should ever need to.

This is where I put mine, it's mounted on the ecu bracket. I find the noise not too bad mounted here, I don't know if the bracket takes some of the noise out though.

+1

Hate noisy fuel systems....

Good work with the relocation.

I had a friend get pinged for the FPR.

Least yours is nicely tucked away now.
