The vibration from the reg. travels right thru the body and make the resonating racket that Ive been hearing. So anyway here is a pic of where I had the fuel reg. mounted originally and here is where it is mounted now. You may be able to see the drop down bracket I made which fixes to 1 of the intake manifold bolts.Result is well worth sharing and I suggest anyone with a setup like in my 1st pic should have a go at isolating the fuel reg from the body by a means of mounting the reg. to the motor like I did or maybe rubber mounting it.cheerscheersmccheers Edited 25/11/12 03:36 PM by Kroozin 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/82990-external-fuel-reg-mountinglocation/ Share on other sites

Is it harder to read the gauge/adjust the pressure where you've put it? I might look at insulating mine if I find it noisy but think I'll keep it where it is. The A1000 is hell noisy. Ideally the gauge would b best in the car rather than under the hood. I would suggest just trying what I've done as it takes sfa time to make the bracket and you will seriously be suprised how much it shuts it up. I thought it was just the pump making the majority of the noise but now im thinking it was 50/50. I reckon mounting to the motor would work better than rubber mounting back to the body + it's still easy enough to adjust it should ever need to. I find the noise not too bad mounted here, I don't know if the bracket takes some of the noise out though.
