No stalls on the week-end though a minimum of driving done.

I reckon my T would go close to being the champion staller.

I believe the following have NO impact on the problem.

1. Auto/manual.

2. Engine or ambient temperature.

3. Air-con on or off.

In the past, on carburetted engines, (You remember them?) the most likely cause would have been diagnosed as as a float level problem.....IMHO.

have noticed stalling only occurs when approaching intersections and putting into neutral (manual) with a/c on.it seems it doesn't want to idle propely . I guess it is due to high temps. I live in alice springs. :smilielol:

Its not due to high temps, as my car has ruff idle 75% of the time when coming to a stop at an intersection, has only stalled twice to date which has been in the last week.

Booked in for thursday morning, dont want it back til she is fixed!!

An update on the newest cal's guy's.They're sitting at FOMOCO waiting for the instalation procedure to be finalised and should start being shipped by the end of this week. These are the calibration's to fix the irratic idle and stalling. If you've been told that your vehicle has been updated to these cal's,take it back and tell them to do it properly.

Fordtech,

I got an updated calibration last week and all seemed fine ( until today where I copped another stall that appeared heat related ) when I was downshifting to turn into a corner.

Are the calibrations you are talking about newer than last week ?

Had mine done yesterday.

No issues yet but can't comment on the effectiveness of any stalling fixes.

Certainly feel as though the gear changes in SSS mode (especially the downshifts) are better. Any changes that you know of Fordtech?

There are some trans related calibrations included on the latest calibration disc that,as far as my sources tell me,hasn't actually been sent to any dealers yet.Would be interested to know the cal number on the side of your PCM(that's assuming that the dealer in question actually wrote it on there.)If the last letter is a "C" or a "J" then it has actually been updated and my sources are wrong.

Mine hunts & stalls quite often, thens runs fine for a while then starts doing it again.

First got throttle body replaced , was fine then started playing up again. Then got switch under dash connected to pedal replaced.

Still does it. Changed plugs. Still does it. ????

What the hell is it?
