got 8 runs in.

for my first time out at wsid im pretty happy.

no dramas and pretty consistent runs once I worked out where the start and finish lines where

a best of 13.289 at 104mph

what I dont understand is how this guy below runs so fast with very similar 60ft times?

I ran 2.2 and 2.3 most of the runs yet got nowhere near that kind of et.

there sure is alot to learn about this drag racing caper!

If you shallow stage you can gain a bit of time and MPH as you give yourself more rollout, so once the first light comes on gently creep your car forward untill the second light comes on, the trick is to stay as far back as you can with the second light on.

I'll get there about 530-6. Just had car washed and a pterodactyl has sh*t on the bonnet already....

Hey man what was your best time? Tyre bald yet lol...

Heading back out on the 5th of December, cms are fitting the 1000cc injectors new diff bush and a second 044, then hopefully low 11's :)

He has more power than you (see his higher mph). While 60ft is important, power is too :)

I understand that but we are both stock.

it turns out he just got a better launch (sedan vs lowered ute)

see below

Well done. Your 60ft time is actually 2.04 not 2.2. The 2.2 is your reaction time. ( how long it took you to move after the light went green)

makes more sense now.

rednose, thanks for that advise, ill try that next time.

so if I understand correctly the time doesnt actually start till you clear the light?

so by shallow staging your gaining a jump effectively?

Don't worry about going as soon as the lights green, timer starts as soon as you move!

Sit there concentrate and stall it up of auto!

I wait a few seconds then go I never worry about "racing" the car next to me as I'm there to get my own times.

Spot on mate, the time starts when you trip the beam so by staying that touch further back you sort of get a tiny little rolling start, very small but can make all the difference.
