In the last week theres been a few times when starting my ute the lighter has no power, windows won't wind up, the radio is off but is able to be turned back on and none of the fan, aircon, or associated buttons work and nothing comes up on the display. If I turn it off and try to turn it back on it gets to though 'ignition' point on the key but will crank the car over without pushing the start button. Turning off and on again doesn't fix it but after about 10-15 minutes of driving it all clicks back to normal again, then if I turn it off I can use the button to start it again and everything works fine, all the displays work which should rule out it being a fuse? Had the car tuned about 4 weeks ago don't know if that's of any relevance but no problems from then until now.

My car was playing up similar to that before, ended up being positive terminal on battery was a little loose. Take your terminals off rub them over with emricloth or fine sandpaper and replace tightly.

Unfortunately no good. Undid the terminals and cleaned them with a wire brush, and while there was a bit of corrosion on them, when I put them back on all clean the problem is still there. Rang ford service and the bloke there seems to think it may be the ignition but its not loose or rattly at all, I'm sceptical to send it to them and pay an arm and a leg.

Dam... Hope its nothing serious dude, btw screw ford. You will end up paying an arm and a leg for them to tell you theres nothing wrong with it, take it to an auto electrician, they may be able to help you out better than Fraud.

Actually ford is better positioned to help you as it sounds like a BEM issue for which ford have all the diagnostic tools and processes to diagnose. If the problem is repeatable it shouldnt be too hard to fix. Also could be a sticky accessory relay which iv seen before

I tried jiggling the button and pressing it a bunch of times to see if it did anything or 'popped out' if it was stuck on, no change :/ Its just super frustrating as theres been nothing to really set it off. Got a membership with ford forums pending so hopefully they're fast and I can get a wiring diagram, being reasonably mechanically minded and working on electrical equipment all day is usually a benefit but when it comes to electronics I'm like a chimp with a stick
