I don't expect good pricing on any ford, or other manufacturers, overseas models. We get ripped off, Aussie dollar is smoking but we still get shafted. I expect similar pricing points to what we have, why wouldn't they will want to milk us for what we're used to.

Jeep are one brand that this is not true there prices have dropped year on year as the $ has got better. The SRT8 grand Cherokee at 76k is smoking value if you like performance SUV's. it is about 10 to 15k cheaper than last SRT and 100% better

it's a pity ford dropped the territory turbo as they would be a great match up although it would have needed a serious power upgrade from the old model to keep up.

Having just had a merc C200 for a hire car for a week euro cars might be nice to drive but they don't really like Aussie conditions. The AC really struggled in WA heat and it was pretty mild compared to full summer.

This country needs cars built for this country it's just a pity that 80% of he buyers live in 3 capital cities and never leave the city so they don't see what real Aussie cars need and buy import models thinking an Aussie car doesn't meet their status symbol needs

I think its all a farce seriously doubt the falcon type sedan range would be discontinued maybe a name change slight body changes towards the less bulky european type sedans seriously doubt we will see a mustang in the V8 supercars replacing a aussie performance sedan... think about it I'm sure they will release a sedan with a 4&6 and turbo & 8 in performance range

It would great - if someone whom has a closer relationship to Ford - middle and or upper management to offer a insight here - as what the common folk can expect from Ford Aust in the next few years - expecially around the performance range

go have a dig on AFF.

someone from marketing joined up on there a few months ago, had a few interesting insights.

surely its as simple as Ford AUS is costing its parent Ford US too much money R&D'ing local cars.

Ford US obviously want to keep its 'loyal' customers so doesn't want to barge in and shut Ford AUS down overnight, so through a clever campaign of nil marketing and, lately, higher cost finance packages will make it look like a slow death that couldn't be avoided because "people want smaller, more efficient cars, blah blah blah".

Try and imagine if you owned Ford US for a minute, and there was a small subsidiary company in the South Pole making one or two models of cars costing billions of dollars, surely you would just want them to shut up and close shop and sell cars you already have produced??

Yeah this type of conspiracy is what I had in mind.

Let it slowly rot away then bring in some new fancy schmancy US car to 'save" Ford Australia from the wolves.

I can't see if costing that much considering the level of R&D Ford Aus do for the entire Oceania region. There is value in the resources.

I don't believe Ford Aus will go away, sure they may be ramping up for a production change to lower build numbers and also produce a smaller car range.

They will always have a medium to large car range, however those vehicles will be most likely imported

The funny thing is every American I have had in either my falcon or territory love them and which they could get something like it in. The US. They have 2 doors thrust on them if they want a performance model or a soccer mom boring model if they want more than 2 useable seats

Although the performance segment of the market is relatively niche , it is an important part of Ford's performance history and DNA - as recently demonstrated by the integration of role of Prodrive back into Ford Campbellfield and Geelong plants .. With the Aus government under ernomous pressure to ensure that the automotive market continues in this country

Ford Aust currently holds 8% market share with Toyota holding a better than 20% .. Although the Ranger Ute is making positive inroads in the sales held by Hi Lux - Ford Aust has ernomous ground to make up and if it is to survive beyond 2016 - it may continue to hold a performance segment - if only for the Supercar series - we may see the end of the Falcon ???
